Frauke Ritter Von Sporschill (pictured left) is the chip leader going in to the final table of the Ladies Event with an astounding 523,000 in chips. And if she wins, Frauke will bring home a prize upwards of $260,000!!
Her husband, Sven a.k.a --Vegas--, who came 87th on the One SICK Promo leader board this year, is there to cheer her on and hopefully take home a bracelet of his own.

Hey everyone!
The first "Sick" players for Team SunPoker have started to arrive here in Sin City. As you know it is extemely hot here in Las Vegas in June, with daily temperatures hitting 100 plus degrees (35 C). The irony is that the poker rooms here are fricking freezing! Within 48 hours of landing my nose was running like a faucet and my voice sounded like a cross between Elmer Fudd and Elvis. Thankfully all SunPoker players receive a sweet-looking hoodie as part of their gear package to keep you warm at the tables.
One of the first players from Team SunPoker to hit town was Mihay "ThierryH" Manole. Anyone who plays on SunPoker will know that this guy is one Sick player and he plans on making some serious runs at some shiny new bracelets this year. Mihay finished 4th in the OneSickPromo and is already registered for a ton of events here in Vegas. Today he is in the $1000 NLHE rebuy event. This is the same event that Negraneau rebought 48 times last year! How sick is that!?! We are a little more than half way through the Limit Madness promotion and the competition is fierce. Although the top spot has bragging rights, the real race is to make the top ten.
Right now, Phantom99 holds 10th place with 10,148 hands. This may seem like a comfortable spot to be in, but Imposter is extremely close behind with 9,483 hands. Close trailers also include Fingerama, TLK12, and Hitchiker. All of whom are within 1,500 hands of the top ten.

SunPoker regular "sidsnot" had an impressive showing at the Irish Open last week. He took down 6th place to the tune of €100,000 and made the bluff of all bluffs.
After Roland de Wolfe raised in front of him "sidsnot" moved all-in. Just as he did so, however, the dealer mucked his hand. Being the clever chap that he is, he covered his hands over some imaginary cards while Roland was contemplating the call. Roland eventually folded and "sidsnot" took down the pot with NO CARDS! He literally did not have a hand.

What to Wear - Preparing for Vegas - Part 3

Even though the temperatures in Las Vegas can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer, bringing a few pairs of pants is never a bad idea. The one thing about Las Vegas is that inside the casinos it is often extremely cold. If you plan on playing poker inside all day, wearing something a little warmer isn't necessarily a bad idea.
We aren't telling you to bring a parka, but just make sure that you bring a nice mix of hot and moderate weather clothing.
New Challenger in the Omaha Race

At the beginning of this competition it looked as though nobody could touch sidsnot at the top of the March Omaha Leader Board. There is, however, a competitor that has seemingly come out of nowhere. 80806, who less than a week ago stood more than 7,000 hands behind our leader, is now in second place with over 12,000 hands. Congratulations 80806!
As exciting as all of this is, the real race is for the top ten. Remember, the top ten players at the end of the month play in a free roll for a seat in the Omaha World Championship. Right now Gavin_K is holding the tenth place position, but Odonkor1 is right on his tale less than 400 hands behind.
You may have noticed some changes to the prizes inside the One Sick Promo Leader board. After discussions with players regarding tournament choices, flight dates, family travel etc.. the general consensus was that straight cash would be more convenient for winners. Now Top five places pay a whopping $20,000 in extra cash!

Taxi Cabs - Preparing for Vegas – Part 2

The cabs in Las Vegas have some different rules and its good to know them before you try to grab one.
Rule Number 1 – Cabs only take U.S. cash. Make sure that you have U.S currency on you before you attempt to leave the airport.
Rule Number 2 – You cannot hail or flag down a cab. Cabs in Las Vegas are not allowed to pick up passengers on the road. If you need a cab you should find your way to the nearest casino, hotel or restaurant and they will have a cabstand out front.

U.S Visas - Preparing for the Main Event Part 1

This is the first part in a series of articles that will help you prepare for your Main Event experience.
Of the many things to consider before traveling to the United States for the Main Event, obtaining a U.S Visa is one of the most important. Although residents of some countries are exempt from needing a Visa to visit the U.S, there still are many countries that are not.
With tighter laws now in place, it can take a considerable amount of time to obtain a Visa. We suggest that you begin the application process as soon as possible.
Below you will find a link to the United States Visas website. This site will give you all the information you need on who needs a Visa and what you need to do to obtain one.
Players from SunPoker currently hold the number one and two positions on the Mid Month Leader Board. Noseyboy leads the way with 939.50 points and ThierryH is close behind with 931.95. These two tournament titans are also one and two on our own GTD Leader Board.

Main Event Nears - Time to Prepare

If you are locking yourself in for a One SICK Promo Main Event Package, you might want to start thinking about the events you want to play in. Although a number of players will be receiving enough Tournament Chips to enter the Main Event, winners are free to use their chips towards any events in Las Vegas.
With the drastic increase in attendance over the last 4 years, a lot of the better players are moving their efforts towards more unique events in hopes of capturing that first bracelet. Why, you ask? These events boast fields that are much smaller and games that are played less often. Becoming a master of games such as Omaha hi/lo, Stud, and Stud hi/lo, might be your best bet to capture one of those silver beauties.
Last year these events had some of the smallest fields.
Go to the World Series of Poker website and start to check out the schedule. We don't want our players to miss out on any of the action.

While playing the penny slots at Resorts Atlantic City Casino one lucky woman gave birth to a baby boy.A gentleman who represents the resort had this to say, "We've had people die here, but we've never had people born here." Apparently he skipped the PR lecture last week.
4 security guards came to the aid of the woman and helped deliver the baby. Fortunately the baby is doing well and is splitting tens against a queen as we speak.

Main Event 2007 Schedule Released

After an agonizing wait, the schedule for this year's Big Event in Las Vegas has been announced. The festivities are beginning on June 1st and the Main Event will commence on July 6th.
Although there were rumors that events would be held at Caesars Palace, it looks as though they will be sticking with the big purple eyesore of Las Vegas...The Rio. At least we'll all get to eat the all-day breakfast at Sau Paulo again.

SICK NEWS - Woman Send her Baby through the X-ray Machine

A woman travelling through Los Angleles Airprot sent her grandson though the X-ray machine in a plastic bag. Although the woman insisted that the baby was fine and they could continue on their travels, officials insisted that the baby be taken to a hospital for testing.
Thankfully the baby was cleared and found to still be in good health. We are yet to determine what super powers this baby has developed from the incedent. We can only hope that he gains the special powers neccesary to force ThierryH to stop stealing everybody's blinds.

It seems that a small town in Sweden has finally become fed up with their provacative name. The town of "Fjuckby" has contacted the Swedish authorities to see if a change can be made.
It could be that the townsfolk feel ashamed of their home, however the problem of virgin Star Trek fans flocking to the town in hopes that the name is more literal than accidental seem more likely. I guess they'll just have to go to Amsterdam like everyone else.
Swedish authorites have stated that they rarely change names. There was one changed in the 1950's. The name of which meant "vomit regret".

Following play yesterday "Fienden!" took his place on top of the One Sick Promo Leaderboard. This has pushed "Monster85" and "Jageflode" in to second and third respectfully.
The movement yesterday was not all taken by the leaders however. "ThierryH" jumped ahead another 5 spots to capture 18th position. Along with him "Noseyboy" has passed another 3 players to take 33rd.

SICK NEWS - Hunter Finds 7 Legged Deer

A Wisconson hunter caught more than he bargained for when he shot a deer on
his own driveway. Upon closer inspection of the animal he determined that it had 7 legs and both
male and female genitalia. That's SICK!
What makes this story so sick is what he did with the disgusting aberration. Not wanting to waste the meat he
took it to the local meat market to be skinned and then ate it.
The brave, yet SICK, hunter had this to say. "And by the way, I did eat it, it was tasty." It just
makes you SICK thinking about it, doesn't it?
